Our functional excipients are used worldwide to optimize drug delivery and enhance patient adherence.

Gattefossé is committed to accompanying its customers to develop safe and efficient human medicines, in oral, topical, rectal and vaginal routes of administration, from the early stages of development to the market.

Injectable delivery

Parenteral administration is a convenient dosage form for veterinarians. Intravenous delivery is ideal for a quick onset of action, while intramuscular or subcutaneous injections allow to modulate the drug release in time. This route is widely used for antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. Discover our star product, Transcutol® V, a powerful solvent with well-known stability and safety.

Oral delivery

Oral dosage forms for animals are very diversified and will be species dependent. With Gattefossé excipients, it is for example possible to formulate solid dosage forms such as soft chews and tablets, semi-solid dosage forms such as pastes and gels, or liquids like solutions and suspensions.

Topical delivery

Many topical dosage forms exist for veterinary medicines, such as spot-ons, pour-ons, creams, ointments and solid forms like patches, or collars. A local or systemic action can be achieved depending on the therapeutic effect desired and the excipients used. At Gattefossé, we offer a variety of solubilizers, chemical penetration enhancers and texture agents to design tailored formulations for food-producing or companion animals.
